Holy Friday - Royal Hours
Coming to Friday morning, we arrive at what is called the Royal Hours. We are reminded of Jesus being arrested and brought to His trial before the Sanhedrin, Herod, Pontius Pilate, and ultimately being lifted up on the cross. At the end of the service, we each had the opportunity to approach Jesus on the cross.
After the service I was invited to go behind the altar, a holy place. The cloth for the altar table was going to be changed for the next service, offering a purple and golden color. It’s not something everyone gets to
“Why do the nations rage And the peoples plotting in vain?
The kings of the earth take their stand
And the rulers conspire together
Against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying,
“Let’s tear their shackles apart
And throw their ropes away from us!”
